Hi guys,

ABS light and ESP light on my dashboard. Sometimes they go sometimes they come back.
Check the faults with alfaobd:

U1449 Implausible ERS message received
U1417 Implausible left wheel distance signal received

I 've watched some videos on youtube:
Seems to be rear wheel ABS sensors. I change them but the lights still there.
Clear the faults but the light still there.

Maybe I have to drive a little... or is it the front ABS sensor?
I don't want to buy one if it's not necessary.

Do you have some advises?

Glad not on my MC. The really brand new ones have linked brakes and all dat stuff does silly a*** things when U brake hard. But alas, I am a slightly old Boird and I think I know how to apply brakes, LOL

Ok after some researches it seems that U1417 is for the FRONT wheel ABS sensor. F**King piece of junk. I will order two sensors in case of the second one break down.

How are you determining that the wheel sensors are at fault? Are there any faults stored in the abs module? Have you diagnosed the ERS fault? Are you able to limit gear range with the +/- gear select buttons?

You' re right, it is maybe the wiring , the reluctor ring, the bearing or the sensor. I check the wiring and the bearing they both seems OK. If I change the sensor the wiring will be changed too. I hope it will fix the problem.
I didn't check the faults stored in the ABS module but I will do this this evening. I don't know how to diagnose the ERS fault but I think it is related to the ABS fault.
I will try the -/+ gear select... you think it' s the speed sensor on the trans?

In spite of this, the truck run and shift well, no tachy problems.

OK guys update.
Thanks to Jimmy07 I've checked the ABS module for some stored faults and I found
C102A : rear left wheel speed comparative performance.
I delete the fault, restart the vehicle and the lights are gone. I went for a little drive and every thing it's all right till now.
I recheck engine module and all faults are gone : no more U1417 and no more U1449.

So, morality, sometimes even the experts sites are giving wrong information. When I search on the net, I found that U1417 is for the front wheel but no in fact it was really my rear left sensor. I just needed to clear the fault from the ABS module.

I had the same implausible fault twice on my jeep after putting on a lift. What it is saying is that the offending sensor is not reading a speed when the other 3 are. and that is implausible. In my case it was the wiring. The first time it was a hard break in the wiring. The second time the copper in the wiring was broken but not the insulation and was a bear to find. I added 6" of wire at the break and never had a problem. But a faulty sensor would do the same.
