ABS MODULE programming question?

I'm in the process or repairing a 2018 RAM 1500 ST. 5.7 it was destroyed, It runs and moves. I drove it off the truck to garage. The Shop i bought it from says they had to replace the ABS module cover, I hooked up my scanner and I get a Vin mismatch on ABS. Makes sense. The Donor truck was the same year & even an St but a 3.6. Looking for some help?
(I dont own the equipment to program)

1) Can the abs module on the truck be reprogrammed?
2) if not I will buy a new one, and install. Will the truck drive?
3) If it cant drive. Can I just bring the abs module in and get that programmed?

Sometimes modules can be swapped from one truck to the other, programmed and they’ll work fine. Other times it won’t. It’s hot or miss.

You’ll have to perform the ABS initialization procedure. That will allow the ABS module to learn the configuration of the truck.

It has to be done with the ABS module installed into the truck.

You’ll have to take it to the dealer or a shop that has the capabilities. Being a 2018 it has the security gateway module so the dealer is the best bet unless you can find an independent that has the necessary adapters/bypass module.

Follow up to my ABS quest.
So I read a bunch of stuff, decided it would be best to my a new abs module.
I Then read all about the security issues, I bought a bypass kit like $25.00.

I was then able to clear my SRS codes with my Autel Al619. ***Cool beans****
I installed the new ABS. the error i believe was still a mismatch.
I bought a new OBDlink for like $70.00
OBDLink® MX Bluetooth
next I bought the andriod software like $50.00
AlOBD Scanner™ Series for Android
I was able to reinitialize the new ABS... ***Cool beans****
Could of i reprogrammed the swapped abs? i have no idea.
I have no iddiot lights on. Will this hold i have no idea? i have only driven 8 miles fro a short test run.

I second Jess Matson's question. I also have a 2016 that's telling me the ABS module needs to be replaced.
