First time posting here.

Any Dodge ABS specialists on here? Got a good one I need some help with. 2006 Ram 1500, 5.7 Hemi 4*4. Came to me with a code C2206 in ABS module, configuration mismatch. Both ABS & red brake lights on in dash. Truck was at local trans shop for work & they replaced the PCM & rebuilt the trans. I did an all module DTC scan & no codes in PCM or TIPM, only other codes are for wiper park circuit prob & low voltage code in SRS. Checked vin#'s in all modules & all good. Hooked up Witech & did a vehicle config restore & that did not work. Pinpoint tests for this code are very short, clear code & if comes back replace module. A new ABS module is obsolete but I did find some used ones on ebay. Owner of truck states that ABS/brake lights where not on before trans repair shop trip. I have verified correct PCM part number installed & have looked over the configuration data but cant find anything wrong but alot of the data I have no idea what I'm looking at. I'm thinking try a used ABS module but I have my doubts due to the fact no ABS probs before PCM replacement. Anybody have any ideas or things I may have missed? Going to call the trans shop & see if they happen to have the old module laying around but I'm not holding my breath.

On my 2018 I had to replace the ABS module when it failed. I did not get any codes, but the truck did say service ABS and cruise control would not work. This site lists ABS repair your ram, I have not used this service but when I was searching around about my issue others had posted success with ABS repairs.

These rolling microcomputers are famous for spitting out a myriad of DTCs when the starting battery has issues.

The low voltage code in the SRS might be worth pursuing before chasing ABS ghosts.

I'd start with load testing the battery using a toaster-style battery load tester and not a digital tester. A flakey cell can often sneak by the digital testers.

After you've cleared the battery as functional, it's time to start looking at common grounds.

I prob should have mentioned, owner said that he had battery probs earlier in the year & had it replaced. I didnt test it but had a battery maintainer on it while testing ABS so I doubt thats it. Said he had no warnings or problems after replacement. I will give it a quick test with the carbon pile though just to be sure. The low voltage code did not come back after clearing.

BTW, called trans shop & they do not have old PCM.

Your crystal ball must be better than mine.

A new battery has no form of authentication or trust, in my books. A flakey cell is notorious for causing grief and is therefore step 1 in the diagnosis process and it's much easier than chasing a bad ground.

Take it, or leave it. No disrespect intended.

Step 2 is chasing down the common ground points, of which there are several but I would focus on those in proximity to the PCM & BCM.

The 2008 pdf service manual can be found here. Use Control F word search on Windows PC or equivalent. Updated link 14:24

You might also search for bad grounds in the 3rd gen section.

My 2006 truck (4.7 rear ABS only) is suffering from the same illness (C2206). I tried ‘static ECU initialization’ in Alfaobd to learn the ABS module but get the message ‘Conditions not correct or Request sequence order’. Did you try learning the ABS module again? Anybody who successfully did this on a 2006 truck?
