During wet/ cold days (north east) the abs, traction control and trailer brakes all go out. They all pop up on the screen and wont go away till it is dry or warmer. Never had a trailer on when it happened so don’t know if the trailer brakes are really not working but the abs and traction control is not working, haven’t been able to get a code or anything. Really don’t want to bring it to a dealer, all the ones around me are backed up for weeks. Help, Thank you

To start out you really need to get the codes which will point you in the right direction. Even if the light is not active there should be stored or history codes to tell you what happened.....many cheap and generic code readers (i.e. what a lot of the chain auto parts stores try to read codes with) don't have the ability to read sub-systems like ABS and traction control, or have the ability look at historical codes. Next step is a visual inspection. Under the circumstances I would highly suspect a loose connection or bare wire that is getting wet. Start at all of the wheel speed sensors and wiggle the connectors to see if any are loose and inspect the wiring for any rub marks or breaks. Then I would unplug all the connections and look inside the connectors for any side of corrosion (typically green or white crud). Make sure they are all clean and maybe dab a little dielectric grease in each before replugging. Not sure where the ABS control module is but take a close look at it for any cracks also....not familiar with your truck but my last Chevy had this controller mounted on the bottom of the cab and subject to road water and dirt and were known to have issues. If you don't find anything try to make the issue happen but spraying water in certain areas and then going for a short drive to see if the lights come on. Such as spray down the inside of one wheel and go for a quick drive around the block, then if nothing do another wheel, then where the controller is, then different random areas.

The trouble with sporadic issues is that it's really hard to trouble-shoot the issue if it's not actually occurring at the moment.

As stated by 62Blazer getting a good code reader that can read ABS codes is your best bet. A standard reader will only read standard OBD (On Board Diagnostic) codes. You would need to buy one of the more advanced readers which is really a good thing to have regardless. As far as the trailer brake codes as well as the ABS and Traction Control codes go, if any of the ABS/Braking system has an issue it's going to throw all those codes even though the issue isn't due to that particularcomponent. In other words something as simple as a wheel speed sensor malfunction will cause the codes to appear because it make all those symptoms inoperable. After a visual inspection as stated by 62Blazer if you don't see anything obvious your real only alternative to figure out what the issue is without throwing parts at it is to either but a scanner that reads ABS codes or find a shop or a buddy that can do it for you.

just for ***** and grins, check the large 54 pin connector located behind the left front fender liner. I had a problem with my back up sensors and camera. the connector had started to come apart because the locking tabs were broken off.
