Taking the kids to the drive in tonight and planned on sitting in the bed with the slider open and radio tuned to the broadcast. Does anyone know if when the key in the accessory position does the power shut off after x number of minutes?

My ‘15, ‘16 and my current ‘18 1500s have all timed out maybe after 20 minutes or so in the ACC position. All had push button start.
No biggie as I just reset it, but if you aren’t in the truck, you can’t easily do that.
Never tried leaving it in the ON position. Do you have a key fob that you need to insert?

Yep. It was a double feature too. So I ran the truck for about 10 minutes between movies and it survived another 2 hours

And your battery survived with no turn ons ?
