adding 3rd brake light help?

I installed a softopper and they do not come with 3rd brake lights. I bought a led third brake light and thought I could run it from my flat 4 pin but that does not work because the blinkers use the same connectors. I want to make it so I can disconnect it easily when I remove the topper. Any ideas? thanks

You need to take the signal from the third brake light. The wire pass under the carpet in left rear door. And you can add a female male connector to make it easy to unplug.

It is the 2020 I have listed in my profile I found what I needed. RAM actually supplies a wire needed hidden up under the spare tire. I guess they figure people will be adding toppers. No fuss no muss.

just ran the wire up from underneath and used magnets to hold the light in place so it is off and on in 30 seconds.

I have no idea why we don't run spares on the back like they do the bronco's, if I ever get a rear bumper I will have one that allows a spare. Third brake is part of the set up on those, or can be. Yeah putting a spare tire under a truck, what can go wrong? LMAO.
