Hi everyone, I have searched for a few hours and I did find some information, but nothing that specifically helps my situation. I'm wondering if someone could direct me to a post or provide some direction on my issue...
I have a 2023 2500 Tradesman with the 8.4 screen. The truck has a rear tailgate camera, and all the park sensor stuff. It does not have a Fakra coax connector to the left of the license plate, so I assume it also does not have the associated harness.
I would like to install a camera at the back of my race trailer to assist in reversing the trailer into parking spots when I'm alone. I would really like to have this camera show up on the 8.4 screen.

Is there a list of harnesses, parts, connectors, camera that I can get this accomplished with? Dealers can't seem to figure this out, or they just want me to keep throwing money at it until it works.
I suspect this is a pretty common thing to add, so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks!! Garry

53 views and no replies, looks like maybe this is a less common question than I thought. If I find a solution, I'll post it here for others.

Well like you said, not much out there

If it were me, id hardwire it into the trailer, then put a connector by the rear bumper and hardwire it into the truck

Finally, id out an input selector switch on the dash so you can flip between truck and trailer camera

Thanks guys... I read the trailer camera thread and came to the same conclusion.
Ideally, when the trailer is connected and I put the truck in reverse, I'd like the display to show my trailer camera view. When the trailer is not connected, the standard tailgate camera would be the default. If I come up with something, I'll post it to share with others.

May not be exactly what you're looking for, but have you thought about the Furrion backup system for RV's? Granted it is a separate screen, but if only used while towing, may be an option. And you can get side markers with cameras as well.
