I’ve had 5 RAMs starting with a 1997 1500 and I currently own three of them, but this 2025 3500 has probably cured me of my RAM fixation.

Took my truck in March 31 and it’s not back yet. List was CEL, snapping in steering column, pulls to the right (dangerously with a plow on the front), cargo camera missing from screen, and a recall.

Steering column had to be replaced (took forever to find parts) and CEL was oxygen sensors and bad wire to sensors.

It was determined that there was a problem with the front axle so a new housing was ordered and then Stellantis wanted them to press out the old bushings from the axle and reuse them in the new one. The dealership decided new bushings made more sense.

Stellantis told the dealership that this truck didn’t have a cargo camera, so the dealership had to send them the build sheet!

If this is how Stellantis is going to treat loyal customers, than my RAM 1500 in the garage will be replaced by a Ford. It can’t get much worse!

P.S. Just got recall #4 in the mail.

i'm sure if i were to visit a Ford forum, i'd read just as many horror stories, just like any Chevy, GMC, or any other vehicle forum.

My neighbor loved my truck, so, he went out, traded in his ford 250 and bought a 2500 Spider edition (big mistake) After 1.5 years later, and not starting 3 times (being towed back to the dealer each time) he ended up trading it in for a new Rebel. ( I won't comment on that purchase )

It seems like buying ANY vehicle these days is the luck of the draw. I'm fortunate that my 2020 1500 has never had a single issue, in fact, it's been so good I don't want to trade it in. In 6 years, only the battery has failed me.

As a retired GM employee, I can get their discounts, but, i've read so much about transmissions and engine failures, i'm staying with my Ram.b This being a RAM forum, it means the people here love their RAM trucks.

Sorry to hear about the problems some of you are having, and, if you decide to bail out on RAM, i hope you find a good quality truck.

I didn’t mention that it’s loaded with my tools too! It seems like the sales pitch now is, “yeah our stuff has problems, but at least it’s not as bad as the other guys!”

To those who say it’s not costing me anything. Try having your work truck loaded with tools down for multiple weeks. If you think that’s free, your math skills SUCK!

I drive a 2024 ford f450 service truck for work, you do not want these problems
At least you are actually “driving” your truck! What are some of the Ford problems?

my conspiracy theory: colleges are putting out engineers determined to bring America to it's knees by designing inferior products. All part of the "destroy America" campaign.

The company I work for has over 600 F550 service trucks. One transmission and two sets of steer tires every 50k is common, not the exception. I tried to get them to give Ram a shot but they buy over 10k new Ford trucks of various sizes every year. The discounts they get from Ford are too steep for Ram to be able to compete. Ford replaces the first transmission. We eat the tires and get rid of the truck before transmission #2 goes out.

You’re rolling with a front plow and loaded with tools. Ever think maybe you are your own worst enemy? You under bought and really need a 5500.

I'm 10 years out of school as a civil engineer, so not exactly designing products, but still an engineer. In my experience, college classes teach you the theory behind how stuff is designed not really how to design it. The real conspiracy theory is corporations racing to the bottom of the barrel for maximum profits. There is no pride in corporations anymore, just how much profit can the company make.

I had a RAM GEN4 3500 diesel dually and over all it was a great truck, wished I hadnt traded it in. But it was somewhat comical, that in the 8 years I owned it.... I had 14 recalls. Now my current ram 2500, has cured me of my RAM fixation with the third transmission in two years, again thank god it was under warranty.

My front plow was used about 3 times on three driveways all within a mile of each other and removed between uses! They said this is a problem Stellantis is aware of. Try again KEITH!
P.S. picked it up yesterday and CEL was on before I got home. You think that’s from the tools or the plow in the garage?

The fact that they wanted the dealership to spend the labor on building an axle assembly on a truck that had been in the shop for 5 weeks, instead of sending a complete unit (and reuse wear parts), kinda shows where there priorities are. At some point they need to start thinking about what it’s going to cost them when the costumers start walking away.

WHY my 2019 RAM still sitting in driveway. NOW, rumor being GM gonna remove AFM/DFM from 2027 V8 motors, being (redesigned), reintroduced, would make me look a lil at GM. But their trannys are still a big issue.

Several of my friends are management in automotive related manufacturing, including QC. It's not really the engineers, it's the accountants and the upper management.

I WAITED 6hours, for a 40 minute job,in the waiting room, at the Stellantis dealer recently (60miles away) to switch out(warranty) the pcm of a 2022 Pacifica. They spent 40 minutes on it and
made me wait 6hours with an appointment. They gave me the keys, back at 4pm and the check engine light was on.I immediately went back to the Service desk and they basically rudely said ,so what, make an appointment,we are too busy...THE truck was given back and because of the hack job, half the accessories did not work.Had to go back 5times,before it was pronouced actually okay .Works now.5 is the charm.Funny the Service department said basically those vans have a lousy reputation for ...electri.. Why not sell new cars with that information listed with all the positive stuff the Salesmen says when he giving you his sales pitch? It is a shame people have to buy vehicles from Dealerships.
