Hey guys, I have a 8.4 screen with no backup camera and wanted to add one. I have come across a few different companies that do this. I was wondering would it be better to go through the dealer or do aftermarket kits work just as well? i found this video: and it looks like this company adds backup camera and more inputs for side cameras that work with the turn signals. Has anyone tried this kit or anything similar?

My 2cents.. No mater if you go after market or Dealer the Dealer has to flash the computer! SO you have to pay them 1 way or the other ! From what I read about $100.00/$150.00 for the flash ! Mine cost $550.00 for my 2015 for the OEM camera and Flash about 1 years ago ! BUT Pays to shop around as some stated some dealers were charging $1000.00/$1500.00 for install the camera ! Tons of install videos on You Tube but I did not want to do it figuring cheaper for them to do it then me screwing it up lol PLUS is the also warranty the install and camera! As for after market most I have read on site here also like them !
Hope this helps a bit

Your welcome! From all the threads here the people who did it themselves did of, some had issues,, All depends how much of a gear head you are :) With all the electronic junk on our trucks I felt safer having the dealer do it lol But I am lucky I have a good dealer

There are some aftermarket kits that don't need the dealer to flash the computer.... the one he posted the video of is one of them.
