I'm adding some LED strip lights down each side of my bed, so I can see what is in there at night when the cover is closed (I have a Bakflip installed).

So where is the best place to power them from? I'd like the ability to turn them on with a switch or something..... What do the factory lights plug into on the trucks that come with lights?

I did the same thing... but the light kit I bought had a switch for the bed of the truck, which I wanted. I just ran the wires underneath the truck to the battery. That was just my preference. There are a few threads on the board about tapping into the trailer light harness, or the overhead light, or adding a switch inside the cab. Really just depends on the set up you want.

There is at least 1 other thread on this topic. I'll try to find it later. The new software is hindering my search :)

I ran the wire to the the wire under the drivers seat (I think it's the power wire for the plug in the center console).
