So I’m at a crossroads... I’ve got a set of 35’s that I’ll be putting on when they arrive in about a week’s time. In the meantime, I want to order a calibrator for my speedo and shift points. I have heard good things about both the Procal and the Quickcal, but I am asking here to see if anyone would recommend one over the other or if any of you have had good experience in using either of these.

I wanted the Procal to turn off the fog light drop out and enable 5 blink, but the quickcal was cheaper on sale. Honestly I don't see an issue with either, but with the Procal you will need to do some measuring/tweaking based on past experiences re-calibrating trucks.

What is this 5 blink you speak of lol. Yeah the switches look a little tricky, but I heard from some reviews it’s a fairly easy thing to recalibrate using it

Its the one touch lane change, makes the truck blink either 3 or 5 times when you tap the stalk. I might be confusing the blink counts with doing an F150 via forscan, but either way it makes it blink a few times.

Oh that’s cool. That’s how I usually change lanes just by tapping. Any advice as to what I should do about the TPMS light if it comes on? I know AEV states it will take the numbers but it will continue to blink and such. Then you have to take it to a dealer for the final step. Any insight on that issue?

I kept my stock wheels and didn't have any real need to adjust the TPMS sensors with my BFGs so I don't have much insight into that. Unless you really need the values changed I wouldn't bother with it personally.

I still need to order one. Is there a reason you want with that over the rc one?

It’s got a few more features than the RC one that I was interested in: Ability to keep fogs on with high beams, readjust TPMS, blinker stuff, etc...

I debated both as well, but went with the RC QuickCal. It worked great and only took about 5-10 minutes to set up.

That’s good. I hear the 2 are both great options!

Yeah, I don't think either are a wrong choice. A little more cost for the ProCal will get you a couple extra options with the lighting.

I used the RC. The only issue I had with it was the searching for GPS took forever. I had to unplug the unit a few times until it finally got a signal.

I didn't even know about the AEV. Foglight dropout is worth the extra few bucks in my opinion.

Can I sell the RC now that I have used it? I heard that even if you take the correction off that you can't use it on another vehicle?

Not sure about the last part but you MAY be able to unmarry it somehow by calling RC or resetting it maybe

Just looked at the FAQ on RC website. Can't be transferred even if the truck is put back to stock. Bummer.

Should have gone with AEV for the extra functionality

EDIT: Confirmed. Just called RC. Can't be used again even if the truck is set back to stock. And RC won't unlock a unit if you send it back. On a better note, RC has some pretty good customer service. Polite people and quick to answer a phone call. Kudos there I guess lol.

Dang, I didn't even think about speedo recal when swapping to bigger tires...good thing I have some time before my originals wear out! I appreciate the product mentions as this is the first time I've heard of them!

It makes a huge difference. I only drove my truck for a day before I corrected the speedo when I put on the 35s. Speedo being off a bit I could have lived with, what sucks is that bigger tires screw up the transmission shifting.
