Looking for decent after market projector headlights for my 2016 Sport. My left headlight assembly has moisture inside and cannot keep it out. Tried to dry it out several times and resealed the housing with no luck. Dealership wants $525 for a replacement and past my warranty. I've looked at several online sites and actually like some of the halo style, led accent setups but they are not compatible even though they are listed as projector. Is it something to do with the current wiring harness setup as to why they are not compatible?

All the aftermarket lights are for the guess with the dual and single reflector housings. Pretty sure recon should have some headlamps for rams with stock projectors. They’re also a good company. Don’t get anything cheap or you’ll be back in the same boat. Headlamps are NOT cheap. And the cheap ones are very crappy quality. Moisture leaks, flaking, lenses hazing, cracking, falling apart. Spend the money.

I just pre ordered these to replace my projectors in my truck. They’re about the highest quality you can get. But you pay for it. 946caa8097d0c408a1187c411ffaa3b7.jpg

Did you have the quad lights or projectors originally. I have the projectors and most lights like you have now, which I like, say are not compatible which are advertised as projector style. I'm just wondering if it has something to do with the original wiring harness.

Here’s the only option from recon. They are good quality.

Have you received your Morimoto headlights yet? I love the looks and the reviews seem high. But so far I've been able to read is that they are pre-order and the release date keeps getting pushed out to the future.

You are right. The main drawback of having the OEM projectors is the wiring harness. It is different than the non-projector housings and will not work with the majority of aftermarket housings unfortunately. I know there is an adapter out there that allows you to go from non-projector to projector housings, but idk about the other way around.

If I was you, I would first try to dry them out again (I had to put my drivers side on my floor vent in my house for the day) and then make sure you adjust the vents on the back of the housings (the 3 little caps come pushed all the way in from the factory and need to be pulled out to allow for better air flow). Mine had moisture, did this, and there has been nothing sense; and MANY others are in the same boat. If you are dead set on getting new housings, the OEM replacements (around $300 on ebay) are pretty good and have a better projector than the factory if you like the stock look. If you want more/better light, I would recommend doing a projector retrofit. I can't comment on what options you have for replacements other than the OEM style due to the different wiring harness.
