Hey guys I'm trying to find the best solution for my dads truck not having any fog lights. He just bought a 14 2500 with the 6.4 and the all chrome bumper with no fogs. He's getting older so I try to take care of his truck and RV needs. Here's my options:

Found a 2012 chrome bumper on Craig's with the fogs. Not sure if the 12 will even fit and I know the issue with the dealer having to flash it for the stocks to work. But I can get the rigid bracket and wire up some square lights in there. Does that bumper bolt up?

Get a bull bar and find some lights to put on there. It's not very easy finding lights to go on the bar that are for normal driving though. I've searched a bit and most everything is led flood and I don't want him blinding people. Plus I'd like it to look good and up to date with what everyone is running.

Cut holes in the lower valence and mount some projector fogs in there somehow. Not sure if there's a good mounting point. Would I have to make or does someone sell a bracket that can mount underneath somehow and mount those up? I haven't been under it yet to check that out.

What do you guys think or can you point me in the right direction? Thanks everyone

Under the valance probably not the best option for the reasons you've already stated, though as low as possible is ideal for true fog lights.

2012 bumper should bolt up. You'll not only need to have the code flashed, but you'll need to replace the headlight switch and wiring to accept the "push-on" fog lights. The way easier route would be to go completely aftermarket.

At that point, you'll have to weigh the cost/ease of swapping the bumper and whatever trim pieces might go with it compared with adding the bull bar.

Another option might be sticking the lights behind the grill, though with "fog" lights, you'll want them as low as possible; as high as possible for "driving" lights.

As far as blinding people, aim them correctly. Another option is what I have used on both may truck and bike, the high/low dual power Rigid cubes. Expensive, but a great product.

Yea I wouldn't be using the stock fogs with that bumper. I would definitely do the rigid bracket and aftermarkets. I've researched a good amount but I'm still not sure if that bumper will bolt right up. I'm also not sure if it's a 1500 bumper and if that would matter or not. Maybe someone will chime in with that answer.

As far as aiming the lights correctly, a lot of the aftermarket lights are so bright now a days they are pretty blinding to on coming traffic. Are your high/low rigids ok to use nightly in the city?

Awesome!! Are they spliced into your stock high/low wires or a separate switch? Thank you for your help btw.

No separate switches. Relays triggered by truck high and fog circuits. I have additional lights that are also triggered by the high beam relay, but in addition, a switch must also be turned on.

Also, AB is correct that if it's a 1500 bumper, even with the horizontal fogs (2012 and earlier), it won't fit the 2500. It it's a 2012 2500 bumper, it will fit the 2014 2500.
