Aftermarket radio and Vehicle settings

Hi everyone. I have a 2014 ram 1500. Like 2 yes ago the uconnect radio shut off and would not turn on so I replaced it with an aftermarket jvc touch screen never thinking about the integration of vehicle settings. Now I installed an integrated trailer brake controller and successfully enabled using alpha obd. Is there a way to either add settings to evic or get jvc radio to change settings?

Only thing done thru the radio is the "name" of the trailer. Brake settings come up on your instrument cluster.

I'm thinking of replacing my stereo. It's acting up. What happens to the settings I have made from the stereo? I'm assuming they just stay with the settings I have previously established.

there are some things that are changed using the radio & i don't think they can be changed any other way

I think one of the things is Metric to SAE
Like Kilometers & Miles

I've had time to think a bit more

If you get a new after market radio to replace the OEM radio
You will want a radio the lets you retain the steering wheel controls.

The steering wheel left side buttons control the instrument panel
The right side buttons control the Speed Control
