Anyone had luck with aftermarket throttle bodys to fix the lightning bolt? My 08 Ram with the 4.7 gets it randomly. One of the last things I need to replace to see if it fixes my random lightning bolt. OEM ones are about $300 and I really dont want to spend that if I can get an aftermarket one that is new on ebay for about $100. Obviously i dont want to buy it if its known that aftermarket ones are junk when new. Thoughts or experiences?

Buy OEM,the aftermarket :aka cheap throttle bodies don't play nice with the factory electrics

Years ago guys were running a ground wire directly to a throttle body bolt on the 4.7's,i never thought it was worth anything, but you could try it,and see what happens, you got nothing to lose

This^^^, especially with BBK's. Get an OEM one. In the realm of car parts, especially electronic ones (you have fly by wire), you get what you pay for.

Ok maybe ill try the one at the junkyard. That one had the ground strap off it too so im wondering if it might be bad also?

Just thinking too, what if the previous owner already replaced mine with a aftermarket one? Is there a chrysler star or anything that would let me know if its oem or not? It would be good to know for when i go and look at the one in the junkyard too
