Getting a Flowmaster 40 Series installed today and next plan is a cold air intake. Any suggestions? Also I've heard of people just shaving rough edges and replacing with $50 K&N filter and get great results. Has anybody done this?

The biggest issue with the stock intake is the air tube. It's pretty restrictive. Adding a panel filter in the stock box helps but it's not the optimum setup due to the tube.

So, with that being said I could shave/modify the box and just add premium filter and tube?

I've got a Super 44 and an aFe CAI on my 4.7 Commander. Every bit helps!
