So much bad press about the air suspension lately.....if your truck has it, post about your luck with it and hit the poll.

Purchased early September, and only 1150 miles, but has been trouble free. Drops height at highway speed, and returns to normal just fine. Can't say I change the settings much--I leave it at the 3rd height setting.

Bought my 2018 Limited in Jan 2018, so less than a year old. Hate to say it but I’m starting to have air suspension issues this month. The left front is sitting lower in the mornings now and on three occasions when the temps have fallen below 35 overnight I’ve received the dreaded “immediate service required” message for the air suspension after startup. I can hear and feel a vibration when the air suspension system tries to level the front and then I get the immediate service required message and the entire front on both sides actually drops to the bump stops. I let the truck warm up for several minutes and then cycle the engine and then the suspension comes up, but I definitely foresee problems in my future that will require a dealer visit. It’s worth noting this issue has only occurred when it gets near freezing temps and when the truck sits overnight for several hours. During the day while at work when it’s only sitting a few hours at a time in between errands, I have no issues, even if it’s just as cold during the daylight hours.

I currently have a 2016 Limited with 45,*** miles, no real problems. The only issue I had was a fuse popped when the dealer activated the Brake Trailer Switch, once when I was -20° the truck was parked on an uneven surface and it wouldn’t lower itself which I understand. I must say it has been a dream to drive.

There's no category for "Occasional quirky, but inconsequential issues." That has been my experience, getting toward a year and a half and about 6500 miles. I love the air suspension and I'd want to have it in my next truck, too.

13,000 miles and no issues. Knock on wood. Absolutely love it. Sucks that there are no lift kits but ride quality to me is more important than appearance.

But I also have lifetime max care warranty just in case.

Actually there are now at least two vendors that make an air suspension compatible lift kit. One of them is BDS and I cannot remember the other one:

I've had 3 Rams with the air suspension now. 2013 I sold with 39k miles...no issues.

My first 2014 I sold with 27k..no issues.

I am on my 2nd 14 and I have 42k currently with zero issues so far. This third Ram has given a few false alarms but nothing has broke.

The three Rams where driven in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida. I tow 5 to 6 times a year ranging from a 6x12 cargo trailer to a u haul car hauler topping out around 8k.

In the end though I did buy an extended warranty to cover the air suspension for any issues.

For those of you who are problem free, what is your climate? Do you see freezing temps on a regular basis? Seems issues are mostly winter season related from what I’ve observed.

So far no issues with my 2017 Rebel with air, 11,000 miles. Today is the first really cold day we have had in a while here in Maryland, I am not driving my truck today because I am working but I will check it when I get home later.

If you remember the other company who makes a lift for the air suspension please let us know. Been thinking about lifting mine but the only kit I have found so far is BDS. My local 4X4 shop has checked also, but no luck.

Mine is giving me problems, I've posted about it here and on the 4th Gen forum. 4th time back in the shop and FCA is now involved. Dropping over night and always lower on drivers front in all levels. I ordered a new 5th Gen just in case this can't be fixed. If it is so called fixed I'll probably just get the 2019.

I have since traded the 2017 and now own a 2019 without air suspension

It's 10F right now and likely to get to about 7 or 8 overnight. This is typical of January here in NH. We can get these temps usually from Dec to early March, I'd guess offhand, but this is a little early. I was out yesterday and it was cold, too, but the truck performed flawlessly.

Yes BDS and AEV for 4th gens. Nothing released yet for 5th gen.

Someone with BDS had a failure which may be from corrosion at the air line connection at the top of the front strut. The BDS use a a spacer which encapsulates the top of the strut and potentially traps mud and debris. This in the Rebel Owners Facebook page just today.

This is the daystar spacer sitting on top of the strut. Since the bds spacer is taller, it probably surrounds the fitting completely and create a cup around the fitting with no way for mud or debris to drain out.

Interesting that several of us experience the front left corner being lower after an overnight.
