I have a 2021 Rebel with air suspension. Overall, I really like the ride and the flexibility. I have the Off-Road Group with 4 levels (Off Road, Normal, Aero, Entry/Exit). I use the Normal setting on the road. 99% of the time, the system is perfect. However, once in a while if I hit a pot-hole or speed bump too fast, I get what sounds like a sharp "clunk" in the front end. Happens on both right & left. Could this be bottoming out ?
Would like to hear from others with with the air-susp to see if this is normal.

I've got a 2020 and get a similar sound in those situations as well, so I am curious as well. I am looking at taking mine in before the warranty ends as it seems more and more the compressor seems to kick on by itself.

I have not observed this thump, I only have 10 k miles on mine and our roads aren’t bad enough that I can say I ever drove through a mini sink hole.

I have not observed this thump...
Ditto. I have about 25k on my '20 and I also had a '15 that I sold with about 30k on it with the 4CAS and never heard it.

The only odd thing about the 4CAS I've noticed, and only with my '20, is that for the first 1-2 years I would occasionally hear what sounded like a release of air. Maybe my system was over-charged and it was venting with a pressure relief valve? Only ever happened in the summer when it was relatively warm out. And also only while in gear/motion.

Mine never made a sound for the first two years, other than the system raising or lowering as a result of me changing the setting, or while loading or unloading stuff (mulch bags, etc.). And certainly, never the purging/venting sound. I don't typically have the radio on while driving and usually have some windows down...I would have heard it.

After two years or so, there would be that compressor-like sound at start-up, even after sitting for days. It didn't matter the temperature, time of year, or anything that would point at a reason for it. It didn't always do it, so again no rhyme or reason to it. There would be no noticeable raising, lowering, or leveling...just the sound. At first, the sound only lasted a few seconds. Eventually, the sound continued for longer periods of time. Eventually, it would last for more than a minute. When it did last that long is when I'd get the purging sound...like an air compressor hose popping of the connector while changing out a tool. I'll hear that purging sound happen while driving, even on a short 5-10 minute drive. There is no way any of these things were happening during the first two years and I simply didn't hear them.

I started taking it in to have it looked at. Of course, with no warning code in the system, there wasn't much they could or would do. And of course, the sounds were never heard while at the dealer. Early on, a tech told me it was a sealed system (nitrogen or something similar) so that moisture from air couldn't get into the system to cause internal corrosion. At some point, they eventually heard it...with me standing there. I got the, "yep, that's not normal" from the service advisor. So, they changed out the compressor. Within a few weeks (I don't drive it much...have a company vehicle), the sounds started again. I eventually took it in again, and now I'm being told by a different service advisor that it is all normal. WTH?

Anyone else get that compressor sound for no apparent reason? The extended length of time it does make that sound? The purging sound? Can someone shed some light on this for me, so I can understand what is really the truth?

Thanks.
