Air Suspension/Wheel Alignment Mode ??

2017 Ram 1500 with Hemi and Air Suspension. I know how to set truck into alignment mode, amazing how many places do not know about this, When placing truck into Alignment mode is that done while truck is on the rack just before shutting truck off or can truck be set to alignment mode and driven on to the rack?

Does Truck automatically come out of alignment mode when truck is started to come off rack so you can just drive away or do you go back into Alignment mode and take truck out of that mode?

I can't remember if it came out on it's own or not I did put it in the alignment mode out in the parking lot.
