This is kind of a dumb question. How do I know if the alarm is set? I see no evidence aside from locking the door via the remote?

If your truck came equipped from the factory with the standard RKE there is nothing to indicate that the alarm is set. Its not really an alarm in my book. The only thing that will set the horn off is if you use the door handles. If you break a window or open the hood or tailgate nothing happens. The only thing that is like an alarm is the SKIM which is the Sentry Key Immobilizer. If you do not have the FOB in the ignition or in the vehicle for push-to-start then the engine will not start. This is kind of a dumb question. How do I know if the alarm is set? This is what I forgot to mention. With the VTA enabled either by the WiTech or the through AlfaOBD the small, red SKIM lamp in the EVIC will flash red.I used Alpha OBD to turn on the VTA (Vehicle Theft Alarm) as it's called and when I did a small red LED now flashes in the 7" EVIC cluster so I imagine you should see this. Are you sure the truck with this enabled with your VIN?
The sticker had a few security items listed.I used Alpha OBD to turn on the VTA (Vehicle Theft Alarm) as it's called and when I did a small red LED now flashes in the 7" EVIC cluster so I imagine you should see this. Are you sure the truck with this enabled with your VIN?
