I have OBDmx+. I also just installed an Android head unit (px6 Tesla style).

Is there a reason NOT to download AlfaOBD directly to the head unit?

Or, would it be safer/better/more efficient by using an outboard tablet?

Thanks.

I wouldn't do it. It would probably work but it's dependant on vehicle power and is directly connected to the CANBUS. Also, the android version reported to be in use on T- Style radios (or any Android radios on the market) are often false. They are sold as newer versions but are faked in the software and are actually several versions older.

Too easy for something to go wrong in my opinion (but like I said it will likely work).

Thank you. I'll just snag a used Android device. Appreciate the insight.
