Hey everyone,

So the mod bug bit me of course and I'm on my way to having LED's on everything. The only thing that has been giving me problems is the turn signal/parking lamps. I can't seem to find a set that don't leave an error message on the dash. I looked into wiring in a resistor which is simple but the truck is under warranty so I really don't want to mess with stock wiring.

My understanding with the AlphaOBD software is that it doesn't void the warranty so long as if you don't mess with the engine or drive line parameters. It's simply unlocking a feature that the dealer could do. I called a dealer and they said that they don't have anything that could let the truck recognize the LED's.

I can't justify buying an android tablet and the software just to make the turn signals work because that is essentially the end of my mod plans. So with that being said, I was hoping someone locally had the get up. I'd be happy to head your way and buy you a case of beer or a bottle of your favorite fire water!

Let me know!

Thanks.

Will do! I’ve tried two different brands that have in line resistors and that say they are can bus compatible. While they don’t hyper flash, I still get a bulb out message. I know some could probably live with that but I’m picky haha.

I'm getting a "parking lamp out" message. I checked the third brake light and everything else. When I switch back to the incandescent bulb, the message goes away.

I used AlfaOBD to change to the LED for the park & turn signals and it took a few times where I wouldn't get the bulb out error message.

Everything worked properly as far as function, but the occasion error message came on. Now, I have had no error messages for over a year.

Not yet! My fog light housings had standing water in them so I ended up fixing that first. I bought a kit from Sidetracked off road. Super happy with it.

I'm going to keep looking and I'll keep you posted!
