I'm looking at getting a tuner for my 14 6.4, I'm looking at either of the Diablo tuners but I have a few questions for everyone who has them. First off would I be better getting a Diablo with the hemi fever tune? And also do you have to always have the tuner plugged in? Or can you just flash it and unplug it? Only reason I'm asking is I'm 19 so my insurance is through the roof so I have an obd plug in. And finally what are the differences between the i2 and the trinity?

1: Yes, you will be much happier getting the custom tune. The canned tunes are pretty mind in comparison.

2: No, the programmer only has to be plugged into the ODB port when you are updating the programming, or any time you want to data log, record acceleration, etc.

3: Trinity has a couple of extra functions available on the display outside of just operating as a tuner (display custom gauge setups, etc), otherwise they do the same thing.

4: You're a very lucky 19 year old.

thanks for the help! And i just wanted to clarify on the "being a lucky 19 year old" I am lucky that a have the job that i do, but in no way did "mommy and daddy" buy my truck, and I am damn proud of that fact. I work my butt off for that truck and i couldnt be happier, granted its only a tradesman but its more than most of guys my age can say. Im not trying to come off like an ass, i just dont want anyone getting the wrong idea

The only thing I would add to this answer, is that there are other people that do custom tunes for our trucks, HemiFever is not the only one. I have been working with charged392, he is a member on The Hemi Truck Club forum, and let me tell you his work is outstanding. I'm not here to put anyone's work down, but charged392's tuning skills, service, responsiveness and personality are the best. Do yourself a favor and check him out.

1) Yes
2) No
3)Trinity has the screen with a few goodies, i2 is just a tuner, no screen for 1/4 mile times etc.

Just to clarify....The Trinity won't work well for you as you need to have that insurance nanny plugged into the OBD port and that is where the Trinity needs to be plugged into if you want to display the data screens.

The I2 with a custom tune is the one for you. You plug it in, download the program and then when it's done loading to the truck, you unplug the I2, plug in the nanny and off you go.
