Hey guys. I just swapped out my Big Horn for a Rebel. My old truck had the base system. My new truck has the Alpine. I had upgraded my stock speakers in the old truck with Kicker. I have the vehicle specific subwoofer drop in. 6 1/2" separates. I had the woofers in the doors and the tweeters in the dash. I also had 6" x 9" coaxials in the rear doors. That set up sounded really good in my old truck.

My question is does anybody know if this will work OK with the Alpine System? I know that the speakers are already crossed over, but I was thinking of putting my Kicker crossover for the dash so I don't get too low for just tweeters.

I'm not looking for competition sound, but my old system sounded MUCH better than the alleged premium sound system.

It will sound a bit better with the higher quality speakers but the overall sound signature of that Alpine system is embedded deep in the on-board amplifier and DSP. Not much you can do with that system until you alter all the on-board processing from the Alpine amp. I doubt you will get anymore volume out of the system either.
Owners have been frustrated with that system for a reason

Once you listen to a proper head unit You don't realize how bad the factory system sounds. I replaced the head unit with a Kenwood dnx893s and the sound was so much better with just the stock speakers. Then as you upgrade other things it gets so much better. You can look at my thread where I started a system build and how I did mine.

Thanks for the input. I'll give it a try and see how much it improves. Sounds like that Rockford DSP that is coming out soon that will work with our systems may be the ticket.

Rockford's DSP is an option, but there are many others that will work even better and they have been out for years
