Just got my new AMP Ram hood today. Looks great. Can't wait to get it on and functional.

What was the total and options you chose?

I went with the full package, $2100. But I gotta tell you that isn't for everyone. I had them paint the hood. On my truck it doesn't matter. px8 is Mopar black, it is 9700 black, there is no way it wouldn't match, no alternatives to the color in any paint manufacturer. I got their CIA intke(AFE) only because it's their design. Personally the setup is cheap crap, but it gives you otions. I have 4 cai systems now. I plan on making/doing something better.

Gawttt damnnnn. You think it'd work with a K&N filter since it's around the same spot or is it tight already? I'm really only looking at the hood and the color match. Also, they weren't able to do PX8?

Yes they are able to paint PX8. My point was that PX8 is just black(9700)no matter PPG, Dupont, etc. With PX8( mopar black), matching, blending onto the fenders isn't a worry and not necessary. Any other color, you'd want a shop to paint the hood and blend the tops of the fenders so the color matches.

The hood will work with a lot of CAI systems, just not the Varaam air grabber. It's a bummer because I like my air grabber and am hoping I can find a way to modify the underside of the new hood to work with the Varaam. That would be awesome. Once I get the hood on, I'll know if it can be done without interfering with the baffling of the Ram air.

I got really freakin' lucky.........

First.....didn't pay $2100 (sorry, had to poke that one!)

and......painter was able to match my metallic silver without blending. Boy...that was a BIG thing for me!

Yeah, it was only $1000. Throw in their CAI, which is less than desirable
crap, paint was around $750, nice paint job though. Freight to this Island was $443.00.
you definitely got lucky with no blend. Sometimes you win, sometime you get screwed.

Looks nice,, how much did did you pay for paint?

Somewhere around $ 750.

Had the time to get my new hood on today. Actually was quite impressed on how easy it fit. Nice body lines. I can see why everyone who has this hood says that it is the hood that should come with the truck. Surely I agree! Makes the front end pop!

And yes, The Ram air is noticable.

Now go find something to prop the hood up with so it doesn't fall down on you while you're working on it, ask the flat spot on my head how I know. If it's warm it's not such a problem, but if it gets cold the hood shocks fail to hold it up regularly, for mine and several other hoods around me.

I've got one!. Amazing how much heavier the fiberglass is over the stock. Stock is a feather!

Man that hood looks sexy. Congrats on your upgrade! It looks amazing! I'll definitely want to do that with my truck. These r/t fake hood inlets are crap.

WOW, I'm really impressed with this hood. Just drove for a half hour from work in a down pour(nor 'easter happening here), some serious standing water in the road. Not a drop of water in the box. Dry as can be. Just thought about the snow that will/could pack in there. Guess I'll find that out when it starts snowing. So far GOOD.
