I have a 2001 ram 2500 Cummins. I’m doing an audio build with 2 3000w subs and 2 2500w amps. When i go to play music the subs barely come on and if i disconnect one amp then the other one will hit a lot better but still nowhere near where they should. Doesn’t matter which one i disconnect, the other will play much better but still seems underpowered. I have a 320amp alternator, 3 batteries, 1/0 gauge wire for all power and ground wires. Power is definitely not the issue, I’m thinking it has to be a ground somewhere. So I’m in the middle of making sure everything has a direct frame ground with 1/0 gauge wire.

What are the specs of your subwoofers and speakers. If you have a mismatch of impedance between units it can cause problems although removing a amp seems to make your situation better so not sure that is your problem. Your speakers maybe can't handle your output.

Are you sure? At full power, those two 2,500W amplifiers are drawing 5,000 watts peak--and that's just for the amplifiers. You also have to consider the other electrical loads on the system--headlights, computers, radio, etc.

As an example, if your alternator is putting out 14V, then that equates to 357 amperes (P=IV), which exceeds the capability of the alternator. You may have three batteries, but those batteries are simply another load on the alternator.

What are the speaker sensitivity ratings? You may want to go with a sub with a higher efficiency. Either that, or a lower wattage amplifier.

Just my humble observation...
