Been out of the audio thing for a while. Want to put an amp on my speakers using the factory 5.0 ra2. I have changed out my factory speakers all around i have kicker kc135 in dash and Alpine spr-69 in the doors. Just need a little bit more power so i dont have to crank up the volume dial to hear it. May add some alpine tweeters down the road. What are the good amps these days for this purpose

There are plenty. What's your budget? I suggest going to local reputable dealers ,seeing what they have on the board you can listen too, look at the features, see what fits your space requirements and budget. See as many as you can, let your ears and budget decide.
But a good 4 channel will work, leaving the dash speakers powered off the radio.

Budget well i dont want a cheapo walmart brand type amp. And I do not need competition series top of the line. Why would i want my dash speakers left alone? Looking at going under either the back seat or somehow mounted behind the back seat on the back of the cab under the rear glass but most likely under the rear seat

Well I didn't mean front speakers left alone, just not amped as much as the doors. Use the power off the HU, but there are BIG 4 channel amps, and there are small full range class D, so measure what you can use.

Mosconi (higher end)
Kicker
Image Dynamics
Audison (higher end)

Let me rephrase then. I want 1 amp to power all 6 speakers. Be 3 channels used 1 for dash and 1 each for the doors.
Are alpine amps still decent?

Stay with a 4ch and power the dash speakers with the HU like was said above. I tried powering my dash speakers with the amp, but they would SCREAM at me when volume was turned up. Much better balance with just the HU pushing them.

For the record,
with amped speakers, if your gains are set correctly, you will have to continue to crank the volume to some degree to really start rockin...you have to increase voltage somehow and the volume knob does that.

I agree with getting a good 4 channel amp and not amping the dash 3.5's. Going to be a whole lot cheaper than finding a 6 channel amp.

I tried to run my dash speakers , kicker 4" two ways, off the dash and the front and back doors off the amp. I have 6.5" up front and 6" x 9" in the back. Running the dash off the deck and the doors off the amp left me little to know control over the blending of the system with the deck I've got. Whic is a pioneer 4800 double din. When I switched them to the front channel of my kicker 4 channel amp I was able to control them better. Or should I say equally with the front stage. It was the opposite for me. You have to make sure your gains are right. At first I had them turned up too much and they screamed like you say. However I set the gains with a digital multi meter and got the voltages matched with what they should be. The sound leveled out and I was able to use the crossover on my deck to control the whole front stage together. It worked great. Plus you have the added benfit of your deck running cooler this way.

Line out converter. Takes the speaker wires and makes them into a usable rca signal. Or have an amp that has speaker level inputs.
