There's nothing better for 60ft times than nitrous. It has broken the backs of many turbo setups.

Tires tire tires. And nitrous for 60 ft yes but turbos will take it all day long on the top end and help traction with the lag they produce. This weekend at my local track the 275x world record was broken with a 4.44 (1/8 mile) with turbos on a 275 radial.

So, right now, it takes 4.10s, plus a Stall Converter, to run with a comparable 8 Speed. It's only a matter of time, and the 8s are going to take over. There is no beating mechanical advantage.

What track was this at? I see the tailgate was taken off, anything else removed?

Only weight reduction was tailgate, spare, and front swaybar. Truck weight was 4600lbs, and he was running at Atco.

Back when my truck was still stock exhaust, I ran into a fellow at the track that had us scratching our heads. He had a 2014 rcsb 3.55 geared 2wd 6 speed with a k&n and a diablo 93 canned tune. I have a 2014 CCSB 2wd 8 speed 3.21 geared with a k&n and diablo 93 canned tune.

2 trucks with identical mods, one weighs substantially more, even had the same tires at the time. But not only did my 8 speed make up the weight difference, I had him by a tenth every race, and 2 tenths manual shifting.

I was supposed to go to Denton with my buddy, he was there running limited, so only a #36 jet. Ran a 4.9X with it though. Great track.

Yes, this is an 8 speed truck.

11's are right around the corner for a few of us. I think it is going to be extremely difficult to see 11's N/A on a stock block 5.7, but myself and 3 of my other customers that are now running 12's and 13.0's will be going with nitrous in the next few months. We are all just waiting for the cool air to blow out first. I'm hoping to see an 11.5 in my 5.7, and I think we can get a few of these crew cabs into the 11.9's.

I am not sure how similar the setup is, but I did a paddle shift mod on my G8 GT a few years back. I know at least the 6 speed trucks don't have a TCM and would assume the same goes for the 8 speeds. All I had to do was find a set of the buttons for 2012 SS Camaro that had paddle shift buttons, pull them apart and replace the resistors to mimick what was seen when upshift/downshift manual mode and wire them through the steering wheel, through the clockspring and wire it inline to the TCM shift signal wire. They even have button covers that are legitimate paddles.
