Another Diff Question

Whew! Just talked to the head mechanic at this shop & he agreed that 4.56 should be able to fit in the front carrier. He has been using the same vendor (Randy's Ring & Pinion) for years & stated they will more than likely they will be using Yukon Gears. I feel way more at ease after talking to the mechanic instead of the manager at the register!

I have a 16 2500 with the 5.7. Had AAM 4.56 gears installed front and rear with a helical limited slip also installed.

Yeah I really don't understand it. I just had another shop tell me he thinks I would need a different carrier if I go above 4.10.

I'm seriously considering calling and scheduling my 4.88 swap today. I will.let you know if I end up needing a new carrier or not.

Just got to let go of the money, man it's hard letting go!

My parts were ordered Friday. Fingers are still crossed they do not need to install a new carrier. He said he would try it first with the old one & if that fits he can send the other one back saving me $$$.
