So, I gotta ask. I keep telling myself I don't NEED to upgrade the sub, but I sure want to. Let's say I wanted to do this mod. Would I just need the sub, a fox box, an amp and a line level converter?

pretty much. You will also need 4 ga wire to run from the battery back to the amp with an inline fuse within 18" of the battery.....then also 4 ga. wire to ground the amp. You will also need a keyed 12v power source to turn on the amp(on aftermarket head units its called the remote wire)

Thanks! I'm clear on the wiring, just wanted to make sure I had the major components. Will the amp not interfere since the factory system is amplified too?
There is one thing I forgot to add to the list.....money!!! :doh2:

Thanks!

still sitting in the same spot. I knew i no matter what I was going to loose it. I got swing case in the bed that held that would have been in that tiny spot anyway. Since I had the sub in the other spot it wasnt a big loss.

Here is my swing case mod >> http://www.ramforum.com/f41/bed_mod-10795/

bumping this one back up.

Anyone know the air volume of the fox box? Its the DQC-112-S fox box.

My last remaining sub died. I guess a run of 15 years on the sub was it. I need to get a new one and I want to make sure I get one that will be in the right air volume range.

Its got to be at least 1.25 cf but you could always fill it full of popcorn to confirm
