2014 2500 6.4 4x4 How much should I get for just dropping the pan and filters? I've seen so many different posts on how much is needed. I've also read I need to jack the rear end 6 to 8 inches to level the pan. I'm fine with that. Just don't want to over buy as usual. It's expensive but I have 102k on the truck that HAD a broken trans dipstick. I'm kind of scared of what got in there.

Drives fine no issues. I'm not towing or hauling anything, but I did have it straight piped from both cats and I get on it regularly :)

Thank you

you have 6 speed? The level is for 8 speed, no worries 6 speed. The 1500 takes 8 quarts drop and change filters, do you have metal threads upgrade ready for rfe?

those metal threads I posted is the upgrade, the OEM filter is plastic, when plastic ones break, there goes the trans. Just order one of those dirt cheap too, good forever.

Listen to Burla.

I have your truck, 3 years newer. Transmission is 66RFE Chrysler, 6 speed. (actually 4 speed with 2 overdrives)

It takes 8 quarts trans oil, use Red Line C+ ATF.
If you don't like RTV gasket maker, get a LubeLocker trans pan gasket.
Burla is suggesting a steel stud for the canister oil filter, they come with plastic ones of questionable durability.
At this point of age, I'd just get the standard filters from Summit and not worry about upgrading the filters.

I've changed mine twice, so this is data for you.

agree, oem filters especially the sump filter. There is options for canister, but whatever on that. the OEM sump Mopar filter for rfe has a little pink valve on it, that is the one you want. look at backside (black side) see pink valve

What's the best place to buy the filters and Fluid? Amazon wants almost $70 a gallon. If that's the cost, I'll pay it but if you all have a better choice I'll take it.

The sump filter I posted is now 76, when I bought it last in 2019 it was 56, that is for Mopar which in this case I really recommend which is rare, usually not much of a fan of some OEM things, just from info on the board overtime. The Mopar filter is built right, and considering it needs to last a lot of miles, I wouldn't cheap out there, see the highlighted backside post in this thread. Any atf4 will do, but the two applications that redline really shines is in hemi tick engines and in the rfe transmission. You don't want multi use oils in this such as maxlife, it is too thin, so atf 4 at a minimum.

I bought filters from Summit Racing, too many counterfeits on Amazon.
Get Mopar ATF4 from AllMoparParts site sponsor.
Red Line - Google prices.
