Gents, So, I have a small issue. I thought my 2015 Alpine system was 'descent' until i heard a fellow ram using JL c5 serious in his door and 2 JL audio 10s in the floor-sounded CLEAN and tight.

I listen to mainly everything, mainly HICK HOP, country, pop, 80s. I saw a thread awile back by Matt, aka 450hemi) on replacing the sub with a kicker unit as well as the dash speakers. What I am curious here is...*if I did this, why not the doors as well? Also, how does the entire system sound together going off the 8.4" alpine wanna-be system?

The sub is changeable, you go from a 150w 8" to a 200+ watt 10", the rest, the Alpine impedance is different.

Thanks Gray! I just read through Matt's 36 pages and fairly confused. Suffice to say there is a harness issue for the newer trucks. Mine being a '15, that presents a problem. The guy's truck I heard today had the JL audio 10s (2 of them) and JL audio in the doors. The subs had its own amp. Now, this may be a costly venture, so I am reachign out here. Poitn is I'm not going to a sound off or rap concert. I like clean tight bass. And clear mids and highs. From what I'm reading peopel are replacing just the dash speakers and the sub, leaving the doors and roof speakers alone. If this works then fine I'll do it. Point here is I want to maintain my 8.4" screen obviously. From my understanding I can run new speakers and the factory setup will play them nicely. So I guess it comes down to...replace JUST the dash speakers {btw is that all 3 or just the 2}, or replace dash and doors?
The sub is probably going to happen once the harness thing is figured out.

Yes, cause the Alpine multichannel amp reqires a 2 ohm impedance drivers, so most change sub and dash. If you wanted to do a dual amp/sub setup, the base audio would have been a better purchase versus the upgraded system. :)

So...if I understand you....just change sub and dash....BUT cant do the sub just yet until that harness us ready, correct?

What speakers are peopel using in dash? is it 2 or 3?

EDIT---So...do not buy 77KICK41?? But buy the sub and 41KSC354?

The sub is plug and play, just the front amp is not yet.

Some like just replacing two speakers in dash.

Now I'm totally confused. So the dash speakers will work, but I'm guessing for clean total sound, I should replace all speakers?

IE: 77KICK41(x2) [will two of these work-says front door only online] + 41KSC354 + sub? Can you explain to me what the amp harness thing requires? I understand I can slap in the sub but what is it missing to be correct/sound right?
