Coming from a couple half tons that both had exhaust manifold bolts replaced and one with cam issues, does the 5th gen 6.4s have the same issues?

Sure - they didn't redesign the block or head to improve lubrication of the lifter rollers and camshaft. All they did is try to improve the toughness of the lifters back in 2017 with a new vendor.

They aren't gonna invest in another generation Hemi block & head design with all this electric motor stuff coming at us.

I have an 03 5.7 with 150K and have never had the tick. Guess I'm lucky?

Nah - we're anticipating failure rates ~ 5%. I don't know if it was @Tach_tech or another tech member that said his Dealership was running app. 5% replacement rate. Best data I've seen cause FCA / Stellantis / whoever they are now ain't sharing anything.

I was playing with the idea of selling mine and jumping on a forum members 2012, but then mines been so reliable and problem free I don't think I wanna look a gift horse in the mouth, as they say.

I had a 2010 that I had to replace the broken manifold bolts 3 times over 120K. The last time, $1000 bucks later, I got the green light for my 2021.
*fingers crossed*

Manifold bolts are an issue on all big 3 V8 engines with aluminum heads. It just happens.

The 6.4 is a solid engine with few issues. It is also noisy, especially cold. Use the correct oil and send it. Don’t be one of those who uses Euro spec 0w40 and expect no issues long term.
