Check out Rok Tek, they have very similar grilles, there are two members here who have then and seem to be close with rok tek now, they both love them

I you want a one of a kind look, definitely go with a set of retroshop headlights

Thanks guys!

Yeah - either way you go, drop in HID kit or a full on custom set of heads with projectors / HIDs / paint - I can do it!

Check out shop.retroshop.us ! :birgits_tiredcoffee

How is the paint holding up over the chrome surround? Did you have some do it or do it youself?

Yes you cut the cross bar out. If you do it correctly they say to leave an inch or so of it on all 4 contact points of the cross to the outside surround. You can clearly see that through the actual grille. So I cut the cross out, and sanded, sanded, sanded, and grinded, as well as sanded some more to get it flat and ever to look like the grille shell came factory with out the cross. There are so traces or signs of the grille cross actually being there. Again the instructions say for you to leave an inch or so off of each point where the cross actually molds to the grille surround. Looks fugly.

Actually painting the chrome was easy. I sanded with 800 grit real well. I then put two coats of adhesion promoter on the plastic. I painted it myself normal with plastic paint from there, and well it turned out mat colored and like ****. I then took it down to my local paint and body shop who re coated it with automotive paint and cleared it. I think it worked better because I sanded real well and put adhesion promoter on it first, and then put down a coat of paint. Just spraying over the plastic the paint won't stick and it will either chip off or run off when it rains. It has been on my truck for 3 months here in Texas heat and the crappy down pours we have been getting over the past month. Looks better than a factory painted grille as it is smooth as glass and sines as if it were metal :005:

Local paint shop charged me 50 dollars to do the entire grille. Just something with my city that everything is of the best quality and the lowest prices. Might be why I stay here and don't move :) He just painted ALL of my interior peaces, door handle trim, entire dash bezel, my air vents, and a lot of other little nick nack **** parts for 75 dollars. He first told me 150, but came back with "eh it wasn't as much as I thought it would be, only took me 30 minutes to spray and clear, so I'll only charge you 75". Damn good painter, and a class act when it comes to treating people correctly.
Thx bud. Id prefer a Street Scene mesh grill for the top and bottom. But I cant find it anywhere. Dont think they make it..

But urs is a close second, LoL

Yep I am in the same boat. I am going back to get my mirrors done. Not for sure about handles, but that will be looked at soon. I don't really like chrome plastic, but my theme is 90% black and 10% "real" chrome. Give it a different look. So those will probably be done around the same time as you :p

I don't know if he does powder coating, but if he doesn't I am sure he knows somebody that does :)

I like that...like on my truck, I am keeping the wheels and bumpers chromed. that keeps all the chrome down below the wheel line. IMO, that looks good.

Going to look great, IMO. the only thing I have left to black out on mine are the bed rail caps. I desperately need to ditch these diamond plate aluminum ones and get some black ones. My door handles have the handle part themselves chromed too, which I am not too concerned with. Other than those two things, i have the badges that will stay and the bumpers and wheels, which I like.

I am NOT a fan of plasti-dip and actually think it's an evil epidemic sweeping across the forums, lol.

Thanks that is encouraging. That is it I am moving to Texas, lol. Wish the painters around here were that cheap, they wanted $400 to paint my bumper that I prepped and removed. It may be cheaper to send my grille to you have your guy paint it and ship it back.

Donny's paint and body. Lives half a mile away from me :) He does small little things which other shops would look at and go "No eff you". :)

There is a 2011 r/t that was t-boned sitting out in front :(

Damn that's cheap!

Take that back....
