So I'm a dummy... I left the dust caps off the back of my quad headlights after installing HID'S over a year ago. I now have a bad case of haze in the direct path of the light throw. I'm guessing moisture built up inside and as i turned on the hids it etched the lenses causing haze. Never enough to show water droplets, but enough to fog them up from time to time.

Anyone have any ideas how to polish out the haze? I'm going to repaint the shrouds so I want to remove the haze at the same time.

If you're planning on opening them up in the future then either wet sand them with a high grit paper or pick up a headlight restoration kit and polish the haze away.

Nick @ Adam's said something really profound...

I don't recall what it was, but basically, start with the least invasive path first.
Get some Meguire's plastic polish and try that. It's a great product, very NON abrasive.
If that doesn't work, try their plastic cleaner first, it's got some very mild abrasives that the polish will clear up.

If and only iff (IFF) that doesn't work, consider some 3,000+ grit paper.
Chances are, at that point, you'll never have a hard time getting it clear again.

Apply toothpaste with a dry cloth and wipe off with a damp cloth

Just grab a headlight resto kit from a parts store. If it doesn't work, the rest of the gimmicks most likely won't either. Get some new ones!

Did the heat from the HID bulbs melt the plastic a bit?

I hope you guys realize that the inside of the lights are NOT clear coated......and most options listed will not work for this.

Thats what I was thinking but I dont know much in the realm of headlights....other than that stock sucks....as soon as I can convince the money holder to let me get some Retros I will.
