It's a little thing and I'll continue to live with it if I have to but the switch for the back window drives me nuts. Pull the switch left and the window goes right, push the switch right and it closes, precisely backward as my brain works. Just wondering if it could be as easy as reversing the plug for the switch? Probably wishful thinking but worth asking.

Look at it this way, you pull a door to open it and you push it to close it. It makes sense to me.

Not sure what year your truck is, but the rear window switch in my ‘12 is the same as the window switches in the doors. Push it in to open, and pull out to close.

That depends on which side of the door you're approaching from. :)

I can see how some would be fine with it but every time I open it I look in the rearview mirror so it moves opposite the switch and it bugs me. If it can't be changed I'll live with it, just wondering if anyone has fooled with it.

If I'm not mistaken it's meant to be looked at in the mirror. I haven't looked at it but the holder it's in pops out relatively easy if you want to try to flip it.

I think the connector can be re-pinned. My brain works the same way...and I haven't gotten around to pull it down and check.

Or, worst case, swap the leads on the motor on the rear wall should have the same effect.

It’s an easy switch to modify. Re-pin it and you’ll be happy.

I have reversed the two window motor wires running to my switch so the window moves the same way as the switch. The factory configuration just seems backwards to me. As stated it's a simple reverse polarity setup. Wire it one way opens wire it the other way and it closes.

I actually installed my power sliding rear window and built my own harness. I wired it opposite of the factory schematics on purpose so the switch didn't operate ass backwards. I have no idea why they wire them that way but that's how they are.

I skipped everyone's, I'm lazy, yes pull the switch, no need to pull the whole upper console swap the pink and brown. Done. If the colors are different, the outer 2 on the side with 3 wires.

If you don't have a pin out tool, cut and couple with butt connectors. Nobody will ever think you did the wrong thing. That switch is goofy

so here's why they are like that- with all switches set to open when pushed down- for safety. Say some kid gets his head caught in the window. He might have his hand, knee, toes, whatever pushing down on the switch more than he would be pulling the switch. So- push to open, pull to close.

the actual federal language if you are to read it:
