Tried a search but having a hard time finding the info I'm looking for. I have a '14 Tradesman V6 8Speed with the amazing 3.21 gears. It's time for new tires and I'm wondering if I can get away with 275/70R18 (33.2") or if I should go with a 275/65R18 (32.8").

If anyone has 33's and a V6 I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks!

Justin

Don't think that should be a problem.... if you had the factory 20" rims and tires that's basically about the same size.

Id be concerned more with the weights of tires with the V6. Some are surprisingly heavy. But I wouldnt be too worried about that even with anything under high 33s.

I have the V6 with factory 20" wheels which are 33" and I don't have any problems. Factory tires weigh 40 lbs (Goodyear sr-a) to give you an idea of tire weighs....

My Express V6 came with 33" tires on 20" rims also, but I have the 3.55 rear end. When I was shopping around it seemed that all the trucks equipped with the 20" wheels had the shorter gearing... I can't speak as to why that is, but I got the impression the 3.55 gears were associated with the taller tires from the factory.

Nope, you can get the 20" wheels with either ratio. Tell you the truth I drove both and really couldn't tell the difference between the two.

Since this topic has already been started, have you noticed a drop in mileage or a loss in acceleration?
