I walked around our nearby RAM dealership this morning and they have a lot of 26 models on the lot now. But all Hurricane and 3.6 V6 models. Not a Hemi anywhere except in used vehicles. Have they started showing up anywhere else?

Our local dealer does not list any 2026 hemis on the lot. A dealer in northern Virginia lists one Big Horn with hemi on their lot. I think it is a very slow trickle right now, as they ramp up production.

Are they all 5.7 E-torque ? If so, then pass.

Yes, for Ram 1500's, all Hemi's will be 5.7L equipped with etorque. At least for 2026.

As Mike said presently the hemis will have the etorque. As to whether they bring out a non-etorque hemi option later in 2026 given the law changes, remains to be seen.

10 year warranty, imo a great excuse to move to the ram 2500 hemi maybe the best truck ever made. One could even justify taking a chance with the hurricane with that warranty. Whenever they need to move stock, several times a year they run huge deals on 2500's, even base models sometimes. The problem with e-torque, not only is it useless, it's an extra charge, and reliability is down. No need to worry about any of that with the 2500. It may not show up as a charge, but trust me your paying for it.

If the 2500 rode like my non e-torque 1500 I probably would go with a 2500 but my 21 is the last new truck I'm buying. The next one will be an old school 80's truck without all this electronic crap. In fact I've been looking for awhile now

I'm with ya on that, even 90's fords with the 351w are bullet proof. Yes efi, but simple. I'm done buying new stuff anyhow, my wife that is another issue, but hopefully she bought her last car too.

I totally get that, and there's a lot to like about old-school stuff too, but have you rode in any 30 years old (or older!) trucks lately? I have been in two different ones in the recent past and considering I've owned both I was surprised at how much they felt like riding in a tin can ************* (an 80's S10 and and a late 90's Frontier). I've owned almost every truck under the sun in all these years of driving and nothing comes remotely close to being as nice as my 19 Ram. Maybe as a young man I could go back to that kind of rough riding but no way these days would I want to swap.

Things like cars generally improve over time. This was really brought home to me about 25 years ago when I finished a full restore on a 67 Mustang convertible. All new stuff on it, and though I loved doing it (I literally rebuilt the whole thing myself frame up) and loved cruising around in it, my daughter's beater Taurus rode and drove better than the Mustang would ever hope to do. I have all kinds of nostalgia for vehicles I've owned that I really liked, but the honest part of me knows that none of them are as nice as what I've got right now.

I really wanted to get a 26 1500. But when I saw that they were friggin E Junkola equipped, that dashed any hopes of a new 26. I would look at a 2500, but honestly, THAT is more truck than I need. (No Hurricane dual turbo DI junk either for me)

Guess I could look at a Ford 5.0 Coyote, but their trans junk not help either, and the Ford tho improved, not ride as well as my slightly used 2019 RAM. But I may have to look fer chits and giggles. But if U do not go for a base XL, the prices are really out there, U still talking 50-60's.

Im fully aware of that. I've been a mechanic for 35 years and ive driven just about everything under the sun from 70s Austin Healy''s to current year Peterbuilts and everything in between. Im tired of all the electronics and emissions ********. You cant even back up without the vehicle automatically stopping blinking and flashing at you with all that "assist" BS. My 21 ram has the 12" screen and I still only use the mirrors to back up. Im tired of the complex and want the old school simplicity when you only needed 6 wires to make the truck run and drive.

Interesting discussion... when I bought my '16 Ram 2500 Tradesman (6.4L, 4.10s) new, it was all about the price... which I was happy with. I have wanted to upgrade for years, but something always threw a wrench into the works... the pandemic... followed by skyrocketing prices & no inventory... then the chip & supplier part shortages... soaring interest rates & MSRPs... tariffs... it just never ends. I'd still like to upgrade into a Lariat or Rebel, but I cannot see spending another $50k+ for a truck that looks exactly like my 10 year old truck. I've waited for YEARS for them to upgrade the cab & styling to the newer 1500 style cab & body... looks like that's not happening any time soon.

It does seem like RAM is conceding a lot of ground to Ford and GM in the 3/4 ton/2500 category. I didn’t realize for a long time that the current 2500 was still mostly a Gen4 base. Doing a google query for RAM 2500 redesign brings up zip too. Just talk about refreshing.
