I just recently bought a 2013 ram 1500 quad cab slt with the basic head unit that doesn't even come with Bluetooth, i was wondering if there is a simple affordable upgrade guide that would be louder than the stock speakers? Wouldn't mind adding a stealth woofer also depending on pricing

Yes, just replacing the paper coned speakers will help a lot.
Check around for a simple powered sub, makes install much easier.

Does this help with volume too? I kind of dislike how quiet it is even when almost maxed

It will help a little but don't expect miracles. You really need to amp it if you expect to hear any real difference. No other way getting around the lack of output the stock unit has

Aftermarket speakers won't necessarily be louder but they'll definitely be clearer especially at higher volumes which may be perceived as louder. As mentioned above you pretty much need to add an amp if you really want to gain any real differences. You're gaining a better cone which is going to give you your clearer sound and almost anything aftermarket that you're going to put in there will handle higher power and will almost certainly have a larger magnet than the OEM. If you're using the same power to try to drive a speaker with a larger magnet and voice coil you're not really going to gain any volume that's why a lot of people actually notice I drop in mid base when putting in a better speaker than OEM. Those OEM speakers are designed to pretty much put out their maximum with whatever power the factory head unit is sending to them and they won't handle much more than that . But you put in a nice set of aftermarkets they will sound amazing even with stock power and as I said not necessarily louder but maybe perceived that way because they are so clear, but when you toss an amp on them, even a small 45 or 50 watts per Channel such as something like the kicker key, you'll get the output you're looking for.

Sometimes magnet size doesn't mean more power, some mid and subs have Neo magnets.

In my 2011, I changed the door speakers to the KSC6934 and added a Hideaway, all off same factory radio and it sounded a lot better.
Adding an amp will help, but Id replace speakers first, if your happy then save the money. Want more, then add a small amp. Small steps, save money if you can.

An update, I ended up with a alpine ilx-w650 with the alpine kta 450 power duo, I feel like it literally sucked the bass out of the speakers period, yes I do like that its louder and now I finally have Bluetooth and android car play but feel I completely lost the little bass I had from the door speakers. I did not do the install myself it was professionally done, would speakers help or am I just doomed to saving up for a custom woofer enclosure under the back seat?

Check to see if there is a high pass crossover on. That may be why the bass is really weak.

Agree with 89grand, but use caution when lowering high pass. Your 7 y/o factory speakers may not handle the extra power at lower frequencies.

The factory speakers have no dedicated tweeters in them, just a poly or paper cone, so highs sound muffled. The Alpine system has cheap no tweeter speakers also. Not sure why they go so cheap, I could get similar speakers for practically nothing.
