I have a 2023 Ram 1500 Laramie and I cant get the truck to lock when a key is not detected. Such as when I get out of the truck and walk away, should it not lock by itself? Is this an option for rams? I have looked through the setting so many times trying to get this to work and cants seem to find anything. Any ideas would be welcome!

It’s not an option. You have to use the FOB to lock or press the button on the handle to lock.
That is extremely unfortunate and disappointing to hear! But thank you for the information.

No problem. Wish the truck had it. I had this feature on my 2019 Acura RDX before I traded it for the truck.

They should honestly just do a firmware update and program it into the trucks!

100%
ONLY if you can select to disable that. I do NOT want my pickup locking when I walk away. I am perfectly capable of locking my own vehicle when I want it locked.
100% should be able to turn it off and on as you please! that would be ideal! I know in some cases or later down the road I may not what it to happen, but as I keep things in my truck that I want to be safe and I forget to lock them all the time, that feature would be extremely nice for me when I walk away with the key fog. My vehicle before this truck was a chevy Cruze so I never had to lock that because who would want to get into it haha

I would never trust that system anyway and would still need to make sure the door locked, so using the fob and hearing the click would be more comforting to me. Like my electronic locking tailgate. I push the fob button to lock it, then I still have to pull on it to make sure.

When ever I get out and want to lock the doors, I just hit the button on the door. I started doing this years ago, I figure there are code cloners that can copy the code from your fob. So by doing it this way I know the doors are locked, and my fob has not been cloned.

At least that is what I tell my wife and kids. They all do it the same way as I do.
