I have a 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie 4x4 Mega Cab and am having issues with the Automatic High/Low beams. I distinctly remember the high/low beams activating automatically when a vehicle was approaching and at times even with no approaching vehicles due to the reflection of signs. The only time they automatic switch now is when I accelerate to 15 mph (the high beams activate). I took the truck to the dealer the first time and they said they could not diagnose the issue because it had to be dark outside and gave me no solutions. I took the truck back last week and left it with them for a week. They concluded that I do not have that option of the truck. Not sure what to do now. I have researched how to determine if the option is currently on my truck. I do have the option to turn the automatic lights on or off on the Uconnect and it is on (illuminated), at night when I push the turn signal forward the display on the dash says

you can always switch it to MANUAL high beams. either pull the turn signal lever back towards you (how mine disable the auto high beams) or in your settings.

this is newer then my 2014, on mine when I push the lever ahead, it says auto dimming enabled or not enabled.
So if it don't do that then maybe its not installed or activated, beyond that I have no advice.

My 14 works the same way, when you push the stalk forward it says auto dimmer enabled

mine says "Auto High Beam Headlight control" , and also, different line, " Daylight running lights dedicated".
It is a Canadian truck, so that's standard.

A PS, I have auto head lights / tail lights that come on at dusk, controlled by switch on dash.
as well as auto dimming hi- beams, controlled by turn signal lever.
2 different things.

I don't have that feature on my truck but I could offer a wild-ass guess or something to explore, depending on your level of motivation.

If you can locate someone in your area with the AlfaOBD app and a security bypass cable compatible with your truck, there is a setting for Auto high beam 'on' threshold.

I realize this menu item name begins with 2014 but I found this in the 2022 BCM options, keep reading.

I would guess this option would still apply to your vehicle. Digital machines/computers/our trucks and the like tend to hiccup unexpectedly and reconfigure themselves.

It would appear that your truck's auto high beam 'on' threshold is now at 25 kph/15 mph.
With ALfaOBD you could change this setting to 0 kph if you prefer.

I'm not familiar with the dealership's ability to modify these options. They may or may not have access. If not, AlfaOBD might be a solution.

If you would prefer, you could send a PM to @RamCares and ask them to investigate if a dealer has the ability to change this option or not.

RamCares would also be able to coordinate the adjustment with a dealer, saving you the grief, if the dealer is capable of making this change.

And, welcome to Ram Forum.

that sounds neat, I run with the fog lights on most of the time as it really helps with seeing the sides of the road, but those switch off when on Hi beams.
But I am also still on the original light bulbs that came with the truck.
Could be time to try new ones, as well as a new battery.
I am getting to not liking night driving.

Use to enjoy it, way less traffic and never had radar guns.
Brother drove from home to Regina one time in his 1967 Ford 7L and never knew the RCMP was chasing him till a road block . They where unhappy with him.

These days the semi trucks are running all night .
My build sheet states "Auto On/Off Reflector Led Low/High Beam Daytime Running Headlamps w/Delay-Off"
Looking at this again, I think that is auto head lights turning on at dusk, like mine, not auto hi beams/ dimming.

You could fix that fog light drop-out feature with AlfaOBD if you were so inclined. I like seeing the ditches illuminated on dark rural highways, it's great for critter avoidance.

I am getting to not liking night driving.

I wear yellow lenses for night driving, I'd be blind without them.

Most of my driving is on unlit rural highways and most vehicles seem to have LED lighting now.
I find the stark contrast from dark rural highways to LED lighting makes it difficult to see.

And, most people around here drive trucks, they definitely didn't follow the same headlight alignment procedure I did.

Your latest interpretation may be correct but the OP has confirmed the Auto high beam function works as expected after 15 mph.
