I have a 24 1500 with hemi, .321, and just 1200 miles. Using 10% ethanol, getting exactly 22mpg highway at 63mph.
Your 392 should not cost you more than 2mpg tops. If you have non factory tires, that could explain it.
Unless you are running over 65mph, something is wrong and you should have the dealer check it.

mine is a 21 rebel with 5.7 hemi and 8speed auto. 4 wheel drive and air ride. I get apx 10mpg around town and lucky to get 13 hey. These trucks are heavy as heck and take a lot to get them rolling. They are gas hungry. YOu will not do much better than were you are now.

On the downhill comment you mentioned, read up on the e torque system. As soon as you let off the gas it down shift one gear. Part of the charging system for the e torque. I thought I had a brake pad stuck or something like that. Then I read up on the e torque system.

I have a 2022 Bighorn with 3:92 gears and I get 18-19 around town and 22 on the highway!! I'm actually impressed at it doing this well since my '08 barely got 14 around town and 19 on the highway!!

On fuel mileage there's lots of misinformation, incomplete estimates, and not real consistent tests...

The quoted post could be right for a 21, but it's not correct for a 2024 hemi 1500 with standard equipment.

The claim that the 1500 4wd truck is too heavy to get 22mpg is not correct. Unless someone has big tires etc or drives like big foot, or going up hill.!!

The suggestion that a new hemi won't get good mileage until you have more mileage, is not supported by current 2024 experience.

The claim that etorque affects mpg at highway speeds on level ground is not supported by recent 2024 experience.

It's a fact that on level terrain, with cruise at 63, in a carefully measured test, filling and refilling the tank over 200 mi, my 2024 1500 hemi with .321 and standard tires gets exactly 22mpg.

If you do a careful test on flat ground with your new or relatively newhemi, with standard equipment, and 87 octane, at 63 mpg you should get at least 20mpg even with a 392.

I own a 2022 Ram Rebel G/T and average about 15-16 mpg when driving it "gently". However, like others have said, it is such a fun truck to drive I usually stay around 14mpg. When I travel on the highway I can squeak out 18 being very conservative but that is the best I have gotten. However 2 years and 50,000 miles later and I do not regret my purchase one bit. This has been the best and most fun truck I have driven. Going to hold on to it for a long time since she has the Hemi and you won't find them anymore.

We don't purchase these HEMI's for their claimed fuel economy ;)
We do it because we love our chosen brand and love to rock the HEMI!

I've been asked many times when fueling up at the station by others in cars, "wow, big truck with a big tank, that must cost a fortune and doesn't get good fuel economy".

I say, if I wanted fuel economy and no room I'd get a prius...
If I had to sincerely worry about my fuel costs, I wouldn't own it ;)
Not trying to be a **** about it... but it's true.

Just like when I had my 300SRT8... it inhaled fuel at a disgusting rate.... but laid 11's down the road and pulled 12's in the 1/4 on its 20" rims, full stereo, and little me in there, too ;)
Now that's some smiles per gallon!!!

I'm in agreement, one guy in a post told me don't buy an expensive truck if I could not afford the fuel. The statement made me a bit warm because I can and do afford the fuel for that plus 2 other vehicles. We buy what we like, keep all negative comments at bay and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Cheers to all!

So I owned a 2014 RAM Laramie for 6 years and decided to upgrade to a 2024 Rebel GT because it is the last v8 ram will produce for a half ton. I LOVED my 2014 but decided I could get max value you for it right now so it all seemed like the perfect storm and the smart decision. I got a legit 19/23 gas mileage with the 2014.

Theeeen I switched this 2024 RAM rebel GT…. What an amazing truck and engine and sound!! BUT AWFUL GAS MILEAGE!!!!

I am getting 11/14 unless I baby it a ton.

I am curious if anyone has any advice for me?

I have only had it for 300 miles. I’ve driven it 5 days. I am looking into possible performance chips, tunes, etc. recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I signed up for 18/22 NOT 11/14 mpg.

Thanks so much for any all all recommendations. Might just be something I have to swallow at this point. At least gas rates are going down but this is wildly different than advertised.
Ram totally lies on their mileage. I have a 2024 V6 etorgue that they say will get 19-24. I live in south jersey, it’s flat. My commute is short but it’s 50-50 city/hwy, 3,100 miles on it and right now my average is 16.5. It should be 20-21. I love the truck, the V6 is smooth, but they just flat out lie about the mileagr

Less right foot. You have to drive any vehicle like grandpa to get close to rated mileage, and that's in absolutely perfect conditions.

The Ram Rebel GT comes standard with 3.92 gears. Your 2014 might have had 3.21’s = highway gears. You won’t ever get the mileage you got before and this might be about what you will always get… maybe another 1-2 max once it’s broke in.
I was going to say the same + AT tires. I came from a 350 hp subaru crossover getting nearly 30 mpg HW to a similar hp rebel getting 16. I feel your pain. It is what it is. You pay for the potential and appearance. We both could've chosen a more efficient version of a RAM.

Have a 2020 Rebel no etorque and get 10-11 mpg around town. On the highway for long trips it has hit 17mpg at best! After driving 3500 and 2500 Rams for 35 years in my business this truck drives like a Cadillac. The one disappointment was the quite stock exhaust which I immediately replaced with a cat back Borla S-type. Love this truck!

My 2014 sport with 3.92 , 8 speed is great.
In Canada it reads in L/100KM
bs , no wind I have got 9-10, Average would be about 12 L/ 100km.
in town av. is 14 -15 in the dash.
No, I have not used a calculator .
its good, all I need to know,
I think the high way is in the 26mph range. at 70m/h or so.
BTW The 2008 Honda awd CRV is right at 10L / 100Km in the Hiway, it is quite a bit better then the truck in town.
I can change the cruise speed setting to m/h , not sure about the fuel read out.

Tires can make a difference on mileage as well.

I was happy with my '19 laramie 4x4 ccsb 5.7 3.92 rear end. I got 14-15 in town and usually got 19-20 and once in a while 21 on the highway. it ran great and towed our 6000# travel trailer pretty well. wish I still had it but bought a 5th wheel so had to upgrade.
