'16 Ram Laramie, only has 17,000 miles. Started about a month ago, back up camera would get fuzzy. Intermittently has come back on, then went completely out. Sometimes I get a green screen other times I get a fuzzy image like it's very out of focus. Did a search, didn't see this as a common problem.

Anyone else experience this?

Common problem. Likely the wiring harness, but dealer will replace camera too as a matter of practice.

Tap the tailgate, and it’ll come back proper - however that’s a temporary fix until you get the issue resolved.

Recommend you take a picture to show dealer if issue is intermittent.

Had the same issue with my 16, but traded it before I ever got around to addressing it

Thanks for the replies. Went out to check it, was not working , opened/shut the tailgate couple times, sure enough it went back on. I was concerned it was possible electronics, but most likely a wiring harness issue in the tailgate. Will contact dealer for repair.

Trying unplugging it and replugging it in at the connector under the truck. Where the wire harness comes out of the tailgate and connects to the trucks wire harness is a connector, that has been known to give issues occasionally. Only takes a minute to unplug it,and replug it in to see if it makes a difference. Some guys di-electric grease the connector when they pull it apart. It might not fix it,but worth giving a try if nothing else.

I don’t want to hijack this thread but I have had the same problem and 3 times when the picture came back it was inverted. Has this happened to anyone else?

My camera did the same thing, it wouldn't work, pound on the tailgate it would come back on for a time. Took it into the dealer under warranty, new camera put in 3 weeks ago everything was perfect. Until today, heavy rain overnight and morning, got in the truck camera worked, went to store no camera when I was leaving. Did this happen to anyone after heavy rains? The last camera started acting up after rain. I am wondering if it is a connection problem.
