I have a 2021 Ram 3500 Laramie, 6.7 Cummins HO, DRW, 4X4, long bed. I have been having problems with the backup camera not working sometimes. The truck has the “360” cameras and all the other work fine all the time. But the backup camera on the tailgate seems to not work more than it does work. I have disconnected it and cleaned the connection where it would need to be disconnected to remove the tailgate. That didn’t make a difference. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. There doesn’t seem to be a reason for it. Opening and closing the tailgate might help one time, but not the next. Any ideas on what to check to stop this annoying issue?

I wonder if the issue is at the CVPM where all the cameras plug in and not the tailgate?

I thought of that. Actually, last year, I took it to the dealer and that what they thought, but they unplugged everything and plugged them back in and it worked for a short time. Thanks, I guess I will see if I can replace it.

Try fastening the harness inside the tailgate to prevent movement during opening and on rough roads.
