Looking for some input on what sounds like a backfire in my truck. I've noticed it only does it at wot and it seems to be either between the 1-2 or 2-3 gear change. When it happens the whole truck kinda jerks and loses power for a second then comes back. It isn't setting any codes either so nothing to look into there. Needing some ideas on where to start looking to solve this problem.

I don't know, but do the Hemi's have a rev limiter? Sounds like something is telling you no,no,no. Could also be getting some valve float.

Changed plugs out hoping it was just bad spark plugs but problem persists. It’s definitely not the rev limiter. Still at a loss on this issue.

I’ve honestly never noticed it before. It’s only been noticeably happening for the last couple months. It’s almost like its starving for fuel up top then the computer kicks in and dumps a bunch. Will also do it with traction control off, manual gear selection, tow haul. Basically any combo I’ve tried it still does it intermittently.

to much un-metered air getting in or fuel pressure taking to long to build

check fuel pressure, clean the maf, check for vacuum leaks.

does it sound like one loud pop or multiple smaller pop (like a fart lol)?

TM will cut fuel on shifting and the truck will sound like crap.

It’s only one pop and it’s been doing it before, during and after gear changes lately. I’m going to see if I can get my girlfriend to record a video while I’m driving and I’ll post a link.

My only guess is my leaking manifolds sucking in unmetered air at high rpms and it dumping fuel or a knock sensor picking up say the bolts rattling and pulling timing up high. But my only issue with that is the huge like hesitation it has when it happens. Truck like falls on its face then picks back up after.

Still no answers or resolution. Does anyone know how to check fuel pressure on the 4th Gen hemis?

Update:
Installed BBK shorty headers and a Diablosport tuner and problem still persists intermittently. Does anyone know if the Diablosport would be able to monitor vacuum leaks, fuel issues, etc to try and figure out the issue. Also open to other opinions on areas to check.
