I own a 95 Ram 1500, 5.2L Auto
I'm having backfire issues while I am moderately accelerating.
I took the truck to the dealer( I KNOW), they threw a purge solenoid and an egr valve at it, didn't work. Next they told me I had wrong plugs in it, so I changed to Champs, still backfiring. Next they told me I had a 35% leakdown in #7 cylinder, the remaining cylinders had less than 2%. They informed me I had a bad valve spring, so I changed springs and seals today and guess what ?? It still is back firing on me.
I did recently replace the fuel pump/regulator. All sensors are replaced. Do u think it is fuel pressure?
I'm lost at this point. Any info would be great.
