Backup camera not working

Has anyone had an issue with there back up camera flickering or changing to a blue or green screen? If so how did you fix it or would I need to buy a new one?

Happens to my Ram on occasion.
Happened 2 days ago.
I have recorded it happening on my cell.
Took it to the local dealership and they couldn’t recreate the problem.

Happened to mine in the summer ... looks like excessive heat or cold could be reasons why they go wacky ... since summer it has not happened to me anymore ...

Yeah I hate that it can be working for a day and out of no where it just goes bad mine usually takes few days to go back to normal

Mine started to happen in the fall but I live in central Texas so weather not that cold just hot but It’s never happen till late last year

I had the green screen - took apart tailgate and cleaned & reattached the wiring harness to the camera and that fixed that issue last summer. That was a pretty easy fix. Seems that harness might have detached somehow.

However, now my camera is foggy/cloudy and looks filled with condensation. Will take in for warranty repair next oil change...repairs never seem to end with Rams!!!

Just saw this! I have been having the exact same problems and was wondering if anyone would be able to help with some simple step by step instructions for accessing the wiring harness. I would like to avoid causing any additional problems (I did that one time with a different brand fixing the tailgate latch on my own)

I have the same issue on mine cloudy/foggy however i mine is a 2015 so no warranty

I pull it apart clean it & made sure everything was connected good & same thing. It wasn’t till the next day it worked again but it still goes on and off

My backup camera goes blue all the time. Took it in today and they have no clue. Why do they put these cameras in if they don’t know how to fix them? I only have 30,000 miles on it,but warranty is up soon and they can’t fix it. They told me that an update might come out soon for it. WTF?! Does that mean?

Next time it goes wonky get out and open and the SLAM the tailgate closed. My dealer said replace the camera, glad I did not. its a lousy connection inside the tailgate.

If you can live with it occasionally like me when it happens slam it like your mad at it. I just do that every time I drop the gate now and basically don't see the green screen anymore, Maybe once so far in 2020

My 2021 Ram has had issues with the backup camera from mile 64, the day after I bought it. Been to the dealership 7 times with still no resolution. RAMCARE has opened and closed a number of cases even though nothing has been done. My autotint side mirror dims regardless if the lights are on or not as well, sitting in any area with any lighting around dims it for well over a min so you can't see. And yet they don't think its a safety concern.
