Hi all. i have a 2021 Ram Tradesman 2500 6.4 that the rear tailgate camera stopped working. i started acting up early spring this year. when i went out in the morning the camera would work but about 1/2 hr later it would stop working and the screen would be black except for the guide lines would still be there and what i call the top view which looks computer generated works. that went for about a month then the camera quit working all together and the screen is always black except the guide lines and the top view. its the same if i switch to reverse or use the radio screen controls, screen is always black and guide lines are always working and move with the steering wheel. i went threw the settings on the radio, checked the wiring plugs around the tailgate and the camera but i'm not finding anything wrong yet. i've did multiple internet searches and watched more youtube videos then i care to admit but haven't found any help. the other cameras on the mirrors, front grill and cargo light work just fine. the only wire to the camera is what looks like a minature coax cable (which i have checked for corrosion) so i'm assuming the rear camera gets its power from that. a couple things i'm wondering, if the guide lines come from the camera then i assume the camera may be bad however if the guide lines come from the modual or radio then i may have other problems. also since the power must be coming from that coax cable does anyone know how to check for power and how much power should be there or have any idea what else i can check??? thanks

I think you're lucky, I use my mirrors anyway. I had to put a piece of electrical tape over my lens because that screen flicking on every time I put it in reverse was bugging me. Especially at night when it was blinding me and I couldn't see my mirrors.

I have the exact same problem. Black screen with yellow perimeter lines that bend with the steering. Still haven’t figured it out. Worked on the morning after a rain. Stopped working that afternoon dry

I have since did a hard reset, battery swap with a hard reset. Today I’m doing a soft reset with an amp install. I’ll post any changes.

I have no idea what did what. But it’s working.
