The trucks with 360 view use a different camera and the image resolution is crap. The trucks without 360 view use the old camera which gives a clear image. I dont know why this is but it is.
Hm. I wish that was the case for me. I don’t have 369.

I guess I'm spoiled - my 2018 2500's backup camera (and CHMSL cargo camera which I recently retrofitted) both display great for me but then again its my first vehicle with a backup camera so I don't have much to compare to

And like I said, the regular radio screen is crystal clear.

Dealership said this is totally normal for the classics , “they are all like this.”

CU Aviator, I would say there is something wrong with your unit. My 2021 HD has the 8.4 and it is WAY, WAY better than that for clear and not pixelated. I can even see small twiggs etc when I back up on trails. Will post a picture later.

Thanks. I figured.
They actually had to replace my head unit with recently bc the “touch screen” stoped working completely.
No change in the bu camera clarity though.

Yikes, that's even worse than the older ones. I wonder if it has to do with the UConnect 5 radio you have? I'd be very interested to see what part number is on your backup camera and it's manufacture date. I'd even be willing to test/swap cameras with you to test different part numbers in different radios. I have seen reports of part number 68274731AE manufactured after Jan 2018 is "supposed" to have a better image quality but have yet to see pictures/specs that prove it.

How do I find the part number?
I heard it mentioned that with the 8” connect 5 that because it has a digital input but the older camera is analogue that there may be some connector they had to add that jacks up the image.

This video shows you the details and the P/N and manufacture date will be on the label of the camera itself.

When my tailgate camera went south after a bath in a carwash, I bought a ChiCom replacement off Amazon and the resolution is far superior to the OEM. Been in there almost 2 years now w/ no problems.

Oh yes! Greenyi cameras! Old time internationally recognized camera manufacturers. Universally recognized name brand. Known the world over for superior quality. Waaay better than those cheap BongFu or Wambu units.

Reading the Amazon reviews on these cameras is a wild ride. Reviews are all over the map as far as picture quality, viewing angle, longevity, grid lines and value. I believe they all come out of the same factory. It’s just the luck of the draw whether you get a satisfactory camera or not.

Eventually though if a guy wants a usable rear camera, something has to be done. Car washes are death on these things. I regard them as consumables.

I thought the same thing when the OEM died. Really needed one for hooking up my boat at the time, so I got this one and was pleasantly surprised. I know it was a crap shot, but I lucked out.
