Hi everyone, first post for me, I've owned 3 ram trucks all new, i recently purchaced a 2018 Ram Sport hydro blue package , beautiful truck inside and out
8000 miles, Problem water leak and no one really cares, still had 2 days left on 3 yr 36000 warranty, took into dealer because of water leak on dash, while parked down hill
told this to local dealer, so i could get repaired under warranty, and a door molding on exterior. molding was repaired under warranty, the leak is on my work order but the dealer never submitted the leak to fca,
i was told that they would good will the repair if i noticed it again. Well that being said i washed the truck and had water on my head rest on rear seat,
upon futher checking i have mold growing under rear seat on top of seats as well as things rusting, they then said no good will offered. i reached out to service manager no reply tried general manager no reply.
bad customer service. so i contacted @ RAM CARES. well this got me no where, they offered to try and get me a discount on cleaning the mold, more bad customer service @ RAM CARES, @ ENCORE DODGE
So i guess what im saying is make sure you get everything in writing that they tell you. seems like its all about the money because no one care's these days. i really feel like fca should cover this.

How about some more details about the leak. Maybe we can help. Did they resolve the leak or is it still outstanding?

1. Does it only leak when parked on a hill? How steep of a hill? I assume nose-down?
2. Is there a sunroof? (I assume no, but they are a source off leaks..).
3. What part of the dash do you find water on?
4. Has the windshield been replaced?
5. Does it leak water when parked on the level?
6. Is there a chance water could be coming from the top (front) of the headliner, and dripping down onto the dash? Rear brake light (seal) leaks are almost a guarantee on these trucks. But easy to remedy.

I'm not sure if 4th gens have weep holes in the track for the rear slider, but, if so check that, they clog and leak into cab. Also check the 3rd brake light like jeepwalker said. If it's running down the wind screen on a hill facing down then I would guess 3rd light. Gl.

NJ Mopar had a similar issue. I believe his was his XM antenna. My third brake light leaked once. Simple seal fix and done.

Thanks for the replies, yes it does have a sunroof I’ve checked the drains and they are clear. Windshield never replaced. I’m going to check 3rd brake light. Should I get a new oem seal or is there something better
I’ve got a mess going on here lol
The dealer I purchased it from claims to have contacted the original owner
His response was never had a issue.
Well someone knows something
If the truck sat on the lot you would think they would have noticed or did they do a quick detail and kept it under a covered area. Like the day
I bought it right at the show room
Entrance fully covered. Anyway I’ll up
Date y’all and thanks again for your help

No do not get the oem 3rd brake light seal. It is garbage. I went to Home Depot or lowes and got a rubber seal and used that. The oem was like a foam

5.7 Hemi.....wow what a difference 10 years makes.....
I've had the third brake light leak on a '94 and '04.
Easy fix was remove clean all surfaces well.
Reinstall fixture.
Blue tape the perimeter of the fixture.
Remove fixture.
Apply silicone sealer around opening.
Reinstall fixture, clean off squished out sealer.
Carefully remove tape.
Clean up any residual silicone.
No more leaks!

During a free tire rotation at a Firestone store this young guy told me my third break light bulb was fried due to a leaking cover on my truck. Said he didn’t have the gasket but could replace the bulb for $27. I don’t normally make a scene but did that day . Bought a new gasket and 2 bulbs for 8 bucks at a parts store. For OP I hope that was your leaking issue.

rear window slider only has 1 weep hole
i believe that you have to lift the black plastic track & underneath is the main track.
From the inside looking at the window, the hole will be on the passenger side of the sliding window.
the hole begins in the track & exits in rubber seal below the window outside.
If you park with the drivers side being lower than the passenger side during a heavy rain, there is no drain hole on that side, so the rain water will fill up the window track & over flow & trickle down the inside of the cab.

Ok so apparently I need an Amazon seal for third break light and what do you guys think about this light

Also some of you are saying the dealer has to clean up the headliner? Are we talking new truck cuz I have a 15 pretty sure I’m screwed to get them to do something.
